    Our school mission in action

    What does Caritas mean?

    Caritas is the Latin word for charity. Inspired by our Catholic faith, Caritas is the helping hand of the Church: reaching out to people who are poor, vulnerable or excluded and helping to build a world rooted in justice, dignity and love.

    Our Caritas Ambassadors

    At St Boniface, our Caritas Ambassadors help our whole school put faith into action. They notice where help is needed and respond with kindness, compassion and courage in school, in our parish and across our local community.

    Our ambassadors:

    • promote social-action projects in school, our parish and the wider community;
    • raise awareness of Caritas in the Diocese of Salford;
    • help pupils understand and live out Catholic Social Teaching;
    • listen to other children and help turn their ideas into action; and
    • celebrate the difference our school community makes.

    Caritas in action at St Boniface

    Our ambassadors live out the Gospel through prayer, service and practical action. Here are some of the ways they have made a difference.

    New Caritas Ambassador Training

    Our Caritas Ambassadors took part in a special training session with Kath Ainsley. They deepened their understanding of Catholic Social Teaching and explored practical ways to turn faith into action. They are now ready to support other pupils in planning and leading charitable and community projects across St Boniface.

    FAITH IN ACTION

    Inspired by St Carlo Acutis

    Our ambassadors visited church and learned more about St Carlo Acutis. His joyful witness reminds us that holiness grows through prayer, love for Jesus and everyday acts of kindness and service.

    LOVE IN ACTION

    Visiting a Local Care Home

    Our ambassadors spent time with residents, joined in Christmas crafts and shared friendship across the generations. The visit was a joyful example of dignity, compassion and service in our local community.

    SERVICE IN ACTION

    Supporting Salford Loaves & Fishes

    Our ambassadors helped collect, organise and deliver donated food. The generosity of St Boniface families enabled our pupils to support people in need and showed that small acts of kindness can make a meaningful difference.
